My name is Joe, and I am a software developer with a Ph.D. in theoretical physics and a penchant for writing quality code for scientific applications.

I am currently working at QuTech building next-generation tools for simulating quantum electronic circuits. I recently completed my Ph.D. at the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) in Grenoble, France.

I mostly work in a combination of Python and C, which enables rapid prototyping followed by aggressive optimisation. I love to learn and work with new technologies, whether this is dabbling in web services, Haskell or doing research at the cutting edge of quantum physics.

When I'm not coding I'm probably up a mountain, in the climbing gym or playing designer board games. I'll sometimes blog about stuff that I get up to (the mountaineering posts come with cool photos!), or hacks that I come up with.

You can get in touch via email, my PGP public key D2C4E1B6 can be found on most keyservers.
